Days after a man urinated on the tribal labourer Dashmat Rawat, Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan met him and washed his feet at CM House in Bhopal. In a viral video from state's Sidhi, accused Pravesh Shukla was seen urinating on Rawat. "...I was pained to see that video. I apologise to you. People are like a God to me," Chouhan tells Rawat, as quoted by the news agency ANI. Shivraj Singh Chouhan also visited Smart City Park in Bhopal along with victim Dashmat Rawat and planted saplings.

Speaking on the Sidhi viral video, Chohan said that serving the people is equal to worshipping God. He also said that he was pained by the inhuman incident. "For me, the poor is God and people are like God to me. Serving the people is equal to worshipping God. We believe that God resides in every human being. I was pained by the inhuman incident that happened with Dashmat Rawat...Respect and security is important for the poor...," said Shivraj Singh Chouhan, as quoted by ANI.

The police had arrested Pravesh Shukla. He was slapped with the National Security Act after Shivraj Singh Chouhan took note of the matter. "The accused (Pravesh Shukla) was arrested at around 2 am (today). He is currently being interrogated," Additional SP Anjulata Patle said. The police have invoked the stringent NSA against the accused following directions from Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan.

MP Home Minister Narottam Mishra said, "The accused (Pravesh Shukla) was arrested last night. He is in the lock-up and strict action has been taken against him. CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that NSA will be registered against him. Bulldozer does not work according to Congress, it works according to law."

A case has been registered under sections 294 (obscene acts and songs), 504 (intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), and SC/ST Act against the accused, Pravesh Shukla. National Security Act is also being invoked against the alleged accused. After the video went viral, the accused was alleged to be a BJP worker associated with MLA from Sidhi Kedarnath Shukla. However, Shukla said: "He [the culprit in the video] is neither my representative nor an associate. He is not connected to BJP in any way. I am demanding strict action against the culprit."

Earlier on Tuesday, Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that the police in the Sidhi district was ordered to arrest the man. News agency ANI reported that the culprit would be slapped with charges under the National Security Act (NSA).

In the video, the accused was seen smoking and urinating on another person sitting on the pavement. Social media users demanded the immediate arrest of the accused. According to some media reports, the accused peed on the victim as the latter had asked for his wages. However, the claim couldn't be verified independently.
