New Delhi:  A woman has been arrested in Mumbai for throwing chilli powder on cops and helping her criminal escape. According to media reports the Malwani police informed that two police officers reached the house of the accused son identified as Deepak Chavhan and that is when his mother threw the chilli powder.

A report by PTI says,  Chavhan who was is accused in an attempt to murder case had been banished from the city. When he was spotted at his house in the Ambujwadi area of suburban Malwani on Thursday night the police tried to question him for entering illegally. At that moment his mother Meera Chavhan threw chili powder at the police helping her son escape.

The report says that the Chavhan was later arrested from the Malad area. A case under section 353, 332, 504, 506, 509 of the Indian Penal Code(IPC) has been registered.

Another shocking incident was reported from Maharashtra on Friday when a traffic policeman in Pune was dragged on the bonnet of a car after he stopped the driver for not wearing a mask. According to a report by ANI, in the incident that happened in the Pimpri-Chinchwad district of Pune, the traffic cop Abasaheb Sawant had tried to stop the vehicle as the driver was not wearing a face mask. The policeman has sustained an injury on his leg. The video of the incident had gone viral.
