Parliament Monsoon Session: As the new session of parliament began today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi was not able to introduce new members of his Council of Ministers in the Lok Sabha on Monday due to uproar by the opposition.

The lower house of parliament saw two adjournments due to continued sloganeering by members of opposition parties, after that the house was postponed for the day.

In the morning at 11'o clock four newly elected members took an oath. After this, during Prime Minister Narendra Modi's introduction of new members to the Council of Ministers in the Lok Sabha, members of some opposition parties, including the Congress, started ruckus on the three new agricultural laws of the Center and other subjects.

On this, the Prime Minister took a jibe at the opposition members and said that a few people don't like that Dalit, Adivasi, OBC, and women ministers be introduced in the house.

The Speaker of the Lok Sabha Om Birla appealed to the opposition members, including the Congress, to calm down. "Don't break the tradition". You have been in government for a long time. You should not reduce the dignity of the House by breaking the tradition. Maintain the dignity of this house...Prime Minister is the leader of the house and after the reshuffle, he is introducing the council of ministers to maintain the dignity of the house," Om Birla said.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Prahlad Joshi also appealed to the protesting opposition members to calmly allow the introduction of new ministers.

Amid sloganeering, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hit out at the Opposition saying: "I was thinking that there would be an atmosphere of enthusiasm in the House as a large number of our women MPs have become ministers...Today there would be an atmosphere of happiness that our tribal companions have become ministers in large numbers. He said that a large number of people coming from the family of farmers and rural environment, from socially and economically backward society have gotten a place in the Council of Ministers, there should have been more happiness in their introduction."

Rajya Sabha Adjourned For The Day

Due to the uproar by other opposition parties, the proceedings of the Upper House was repeatedly disrupted on Monday and the house was finally adjourned for the day at around 3.20 pm.

After the adjournments of the Rajya Sabha, the uproar of the opposition members continued after the Upper House resumed at 3 pm. But Deputy Chairman Harivansh did not allow them and said that the decision had been given by the Chairman in this regard and it wont be reconsidered.
