As per the Meteorological Department, the monsoon covered the entire country including Delhi. The IMD said on Tuesday that the monsoon reached the entire country after a delay of 5 days. The department said that the normal date for the arrival of monsoon in the entire country is July 15, but the monsoon has already arrived. This time the monsoon has arrived last in Delhi.
Monsoon reached many parts of Rajasthan on Monday. At the same time, it rained in many parts of Delhi NCR. The Meteorological Department announced the arrival of the monsoon in Delhi. The IMD said, "For the last 4 days the cloud cover increased, and rain occurred at many places due to the easterly winds blowing from the Bay of Bengal. Southwest Monsoon has advanced. Now it has arrived in the rest of the country including Delhi, the rest of Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, and Rajasthan." The Meteorological Department had said in the forecast of June 13 that the monsoon would reach Delhi and adjoining areas by June 15. On July 5, the department said that the monsoon would arrive in Delhi by July 10, but its estimate was wrong this time as well.
Heavy rain alert issued in these states
The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert for Konkan, Goa, and Central Maharashtra and an Orange Alert for Gujarat, parts of Karnataka, Maharashtra, and Assam. The department has issued a yellow alert for Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, parts of West Bengal, and Kerala. After the onset of Southwest Monsoon on Sunday, heavy rains lashed various parts of the country, while thunderstorms and lightning have also been reported in some areas.
