Monsoon In India: Heavy rain lashed several parts of the country disrupting normal life. Following torrential rain that led to waterlogging in low-lying areas and snapping road links at several places, threw  life out of gear in most parts of the metropolis on Sunday. Delhiites woke up to a rainy Sunday morning with the minimum temperature settling at 24.8 degrees Celsius, two notches below the season's average. While in Himachal Pradesh, several roads were blocked following landslides and flash floods. Met Department has warned of heavy rain in low and middle hills of the state especially in Shimla, Solan, Mandi and Kangra districts.

Met department has also forecast light to moderate rains and thundershowers today in the national capital. With the Yamuna flowing near the warning level, Delhi agencies are closely monitoring the situation to deal with any possible flooding.

A heavy downpour also drenched Agra early on Sunday, flooding low-lying areas in the city. Weathermen have forecast continued showers for next two days.

In West Bengal, life was thrown out of gear in most parts of Kolkata following torrential rain that led to waterlogging in low-lying areas. Kolkata received 186.1 mm rainfall in the past 24 hours till around noon on Saturday, the Regional Meteorological Centre said. The Met office has forecast heavy rain and the civic body found it tough to drain out rain waters as the precipitation continued throughout the day.

Many rivers are in spate in Rajasthan as heavy to very heavy rainfall battered the state in the last 24 hours, officials said. Several rivers and dams are overflowing in the state and adequate measures are being taken to keep the situation under control, officials said..

In Punjab, an has been sounded in several districts following the release of excess water from Bhakra dam through the spill gates after heavy rainfall in its catchment area. Rain lashed several places in Punjab, including Ludhiana, Amritsar and Mohali and Chandigarh.

In Uttarakhand, incessant rain has affected normal life in different parts of the state.

In Madhya Pradesh, around 70 people have died due to natural calamity within three month of this monsoon season in the state.
