Monsoon in Delhi: Conditions are favourable for rain in parts of North India. However, people in Delhi are still experiencing a humid climate. Monsoon is yet to arrive in the national capital and Delhites are battling the sweltering heat. The Meteorological Department now has announced that the much-awaited monsoon will enter Delhi-NCR shortly.


There were spells of rain showers in parts of Delhi on Thursday night providing some respite to the people. With a humid Friday morning, the Meteorological Department says that the Monsoon rain might start in Delhi from Friday night.


Indian Meteorological Department scientist Charan Singh says, "Yesterday there was light rain in Delhi. According to the analysis, it will start raining from today. On July 11, 12, 13, there will be heavy rain in the north-western regions of the country. Monsoon will start in Delhi-NCR in the next 24 hours. At the same time, the Meteorological Department said that the humidity level in the air in Delhi at 8.30 am today was 73 per cent."






The Meteorological Department has forecast a generally cloudy day with light rain or thundershowers in the afternoon or evening tomorrow. At the same time, the maximum temperature might remain around 39 degrees Celsius.


On Thursday, the maximum temperature in Delhi was recorded at 41.8 degrees Celsius, five notches above normal and the minimum temperature was 30.6 degrees Celsius, three notches above the normal.
