The panel is examining BJP Lok Sabha member Nishikant Dubey's bribery allegations against Moitra. Dubey has accused Moitra of asking questions keyed through her parliamentary account for Hiranandani in exchange for bribes.
Even as she refuted the bribery allegations against her, she has said she gave her Parliament login ID and password to Darshan Hiranandani to get someone to type the questions to be asked in the Lok Sabha and added that after putting the question in, an OTP (one-time password) comes to her mobile phone, and the question gets submitted only after she gives the OTP.
Moitra has claimed that she was being targeted in the matter for her vociferous criticisms of the Adani Group.
Ahead of the hearing, Supreme Court advocate Jai Anant Dehadrai who also made the bribery allegations against Moitra said that truth must come out in the as he dubbed the matter "extremely serious".
"This is an extremely serious matter. The matter is before the Ethics Committee. It will not be appropriate for me to say anything about it, so I would not like to say anything about it right now...My request is that the truth should come out. I do not want anything beyond that," Dehadrai said ahead of Mahua's appearance before the Lok Sabha panel.
