New Delhi: National Democratic Alliance (NDA), under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, completes one year of its second term as ruling government. After taking oath in May last year, PM Narendra Modi and his government at Centre came up with several ground-breaking technological schemes and apps that have paved way for several Indians to understand and embrace digital innovation Prime Minister Narendra Modi is a firm believer in the power of technology. An avid user of technology himself, PM Modi views technology as something that is easy, effective and economical, combining speed, simplicity and service. Modi Government's Vision Of Digital India Since 2014 Modi and his cabinet has been keen on digitizing India since the Day 1 of taking office in May 2014. For the same, he launched Digital India initiative, an all-encompassing programme, to invigorate the working of the government with latest technology and provide solutions to people’s problems through the power of technology. For the ease of connecting with the common people and to let them be a key part of governance and policy making, Modi in his first term of leadership had launched apps such as ‘Narendra Modi' app and 'MyGov' web portal which lets the user read the latest news, updates and also connect with the Prime Minister. Not just in terms of apps and website, PM Modi has been making efforts in holding wide deliberations on technological cooperation whenever he travels overseas. He keeps meeting technology CEOs of prestigious companies to discuss various aspects of technology and how India is working towards the vision of a Digital India. His government has been focused on encouraging technology start-ups by meeting them and discussing their problems.
