New Delhi: Rashtriya Janata Dal leader Tejashwi Yadav was seen burning some calories as he played cricket at his home on a makeshift pitch with his staff. A video of the same which he shared on his social media has gone viral with some even saying that the young politician decided to shed extra kilos after Prime Minister Narendra Modi advised him to lose some weight.

Sharing his video on Twitter, Yadav wrote, “"Pleasure to try hands on bat and ball after ages. It becomes more satisfying when the driver, cook, sweeper, gardener and caretakers are your playmates and keen to hit and bowl you out.”

"Life or game, one should always play to win. The more you plan in your head, the better you perform on field", added the former Deputy Chief Minister who, many analysts concur, has come out of the shadow of parents Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi.

Sporting a T-shirt and shorts, Yadav, showed poise in his stroke play and medium pace deliveries.

The video made many users recall Yadav’s spell as a former cricketer who had won an IPL contract with the Delhi Daredevils team and, hence, his proficiency was not surprising.

Recently at a centenary function of the Assembly premises in Patna, Yadav, who is otherwise a fiery speaker cut a sorry figure when he fumbled many times while reading out from a written speech in the presence of many dignitaries, including the Prime Minister.
