Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi held a meeting with the party workers which went on till the wee hours of Wednesday to understand the on ground dynamics of the party in the Eastern region.

The meeting happened after her brother and Congress Party president Rahul Gandhi distributed the responsibility of 80 Lok Sabha constituencies in Uttar Pradesh among her and Jyotiraditya Scindia. Rahul Gandhi has placed 41 parliamentary seats under the charge of Priyanka Gandhi and 39 parliamentary segments under Jyotiraditya Scindia. As per reports, she held separate meetings with Congress leaders likely to contest from 12 Lok Sabha seats across the state.

Priyanka had a jam packed Tuesday as she first was in Jaipur to drop off her husband Robert Vadra at the ED office and followed it up with a marathon meeting with her party workers in Delhi. Among the constituencies placed under Priyanka Gandhi's charge were the key seats of Lucknow, Amethi, Raebareli, Sultanpur, Gorakhpur, Varanasi, Phulpur, Allahabad, Barabanki, and Kushinagar.

Saharanpur, Kairana, Muzaffarnagar, Moradabad, Ghaziabad, Mathura, Pilibhit, Dhaurahra, Kanpur, and Farrukhabad, were some of the key constituencies placed under Scindia's charge.
