New Delhi: In yet another case of attempting to flee after fraudulence, middle man Anuj Poddar was on Wednesday stopped at Delhi airport, after he was trying to flee the country.


Poddar was stopped on Tuesday, on the basis of Income Tax department letter, which was sent to the airport authorities.

This comes after Income tax department raided Poddar and found External Affairs Ministry and Defence Ministry documents. The CBI has not filed a case against Poddar even after Income Tax department information.

So far no search agency has filed a LoC against Poddar.

Bank defaulters Nirav Modi and Vijay Mallya fled the country because of a similar kind of callousness. The CBI had filed a case against Nirva Modi, a month after he had already left the country.

As per IT department, Poddar is also likely to flee in a similar manner. IT had submitted a report to ED and CBI on June 2 against Poddar over its raids.
