According to the reports, in an official notice written to Special Chief Secretary, Principal Secretary and Secretary (Health) of states, Health Ministry Joint Secretary Lav Agarwal said that isolation is not possible in most homes.
"Instances have come to our notice wherein home isolation is allowed in routine in certain states. This may lead to spread of the disease within the family members and neighbours. this will be particularly true for dense urban agglomerations," the circular read.
Noting the spike in Coronavirus cases in Delhi, the ministry has asked the Delhi government to place all the COVID-19 positive patients, whether symptomatic or asymptomatic, under the institutional quarantine for a period of minimum five days.

National capital is continuously reeling under the threat of deadly Coronavirus. Delhi is the third-worst affected state in the country with cases inching toward the 50 k mark. At present, the state has a total of 49979 cases with 26,669 active cases and 1,969 fatalities caused due Coronavirus.
To effectively dead with the situation, Delhi government is looking to convert auditoriums in more than 240 schools as Covid-19 hospitals for patients that need to be hospitalised.
Unveiling the plan, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said, "To meet the requirement of additional beds, which is estimated to be around 80,000 by the end of July, Delhi Government is planning to use the auditoriums in nearly 242 schools to set up additional beds for Covid-19 patients requiring hospitalization," Sisodia said.
