Massive fire engulfs top-2 floors of hotel located in heart of Srinagar

The hotel has been evacuated and the guests have been evacuated safely.

Srinagar: In a shocking incident, a hotel Pamposh located in Lal Chowk, which is the heart of Srinagar caught massive fire on Saturday afternoon. The fire engulfed the 6^th and the 7^th floor of the hotel, which is the top most floors.

The fire broke out at Hotel Pamposh near Regal Chowk in the heart of the city here, a police official reportedly said.

Several fire extinguishers have been rushed to the spot, who are trying to control the fire. As per the eye-witnesses, the entire structure is made of wood, which is making the fire spread very fast.

The 6^th and 7^th floor of the hotel, which have caught the fire have offices of 3 print and electronic media organisations. Initial reports said the fire has caused a lot of damage.

The hotel has been evacuated and the guests have been evacuated safely.

The reason behind the fire is yet to be known, but the fire tenders are trying to douse the fire.
