Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's last rites will be performed on Saturday morning, confirmed Congress leader KC Venugopal.
His mortal remains will be kept at his residence 3, Motilal Nehru Road till today. On Saturday at 8 am, the mortal remains will be taken to Congress headquarters where public and party workers will have the opportunity to pay their tributes till 9:30 am.
At 9:30 am, Singh's final journey will began from Congress headquarters to the cremation ground, Venugopal said in a post on X.
The Congress Working Committee has convened a meeting of its members including permanent and special invitees at 5:30 pm on Friday to pay homage to the former PM, said the Congress leader in another post.
The former PM passed away on Thursday at the age of 92 after he was rushed to All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi.

His mortal remains have been kept at his residence where several veteran politicians including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Ministers Amit Shah and JP Nadda, Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, former party chief Sonia Gandhi, and party MP Priyanka Gandhi paid their last respects.
The Centre declared a seven-day state mourning in honour of the departed soul. The National Flag also flew at half-mast on government buildings across the country.
