Manjusha Neogi Death: Kolkata Model Found Dead At Home, Third Such Case In Fortnight

Manjusha Neogi was found dead at her Kolkata residence in the city's Patuli area. Her mother has claimed that she was suffering from "acute depression" after the death of her model friend.

New Delhi: A model, identified as Manjusha Neogi, was found dead at her Kolkata residence in the city's Patuli area on Friday, news agency PTI reported the police as informing. Manjusha's mother claimed that she was suffering from "acute depression" after the death of her friend and colleague Bidisha De Majumder, two days earlier. Bidisha Majumder was a popular face in bridal makeup photoshoots. She was also found dead at her rented apartment in Kolkata's Dumdum area on Wednesday evening.

Meanwhile, a police officer said that Neogi's body was sent to a hospital for a forensic examination to know the exact cause of death.

"My daughter was severely depressed following her friend Bidisha's death and was constantly talking about her since then," Neogi's mother said, as quoted by PTI.

According to news agency ANI, Bidisha was found hanging after police entered her house by breaking open the door on May 25. A probe has been initiated to identify whether it is murder or suicide. Police sent Bidisha's body to a hospital in Kolkata for postmortem.

Notably, this is the third such incident in 15 days. Popular television actor Pallabi Dey was also found dead at her rented apartment in Kolkata's Garfa area around a fortnight ago.
