Amid the ongoing violence in Manipur, representatives of influential tribal groups will call on Union Minister Amit Shah in Delhi on Monday. They will discuss the prevailing situation in the northeastern state, reported PTI. A delegation of the Indigenous Tribal Leaders' Forum (ITLF), which represents various Zo ethnic groups in Manipur has agreed to meet with Shah upon his invitation. The ITLF leaders reached the Mizoram capital from Churachandpur in Manipur and will fly to Delhi from Lengpui airport near Aizawl.
In an Instagram post, Chief Minister Zoramthanga expressed hope that the talks with the Home Minister will lead to good results. The ITLF leaders had a day-long discussion on Saturday and consulted him on whether they should respond to the invitation or not.
"I suggested they accept the invitation. I told them that it is a good opportunity to have a face-to-face discussion with the Home Minister," Zoramthanga said on his official Instagram handle.

The Union Minister had extended an invitation to the tribal body to hold a meeting with him in Delhi to discuss the situation, reported the news agency. The body made a unanimous decision to meet Shah after careful consideration.
The powerful Naga body in Manipur has decided to hold massive rallies in Naga-inhabited areas of the state on August 9 to press for successfully concluding the peace talks with the Centre based on the Framework Agreement. In a statement, the United Naga Council (UNC) said that rallies will be held in the district headquarters of Tamenglong, Senapati, Ukhrul and Chandel districts from 10 am on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, ten additional companies of central troops have reached Manipur amid a fresh spell of violence in the strife-torn state
Ethnic clashes broke out between Kukis and Meiteis in Manipur in May, and have been continuing for the last three months, claiming over 160 lives.
