Kolkata: Sunday's Assembly Election results showed that the people of West Bengal choose TMC as the ruling party and Mamata Banerjee comes into power for a third term. But soon after the results were announced incidents of violence were being reported from different parts of the state which further escalated and about 11 were reported death.
The Union home ministry on Monday sought a detailed report of the political violence. Meanwhile, CM Mamata Banerjee said that this was just BJP acting up after being defeated and sporadic incidents of violence is common in any state post elections.

"They have spoiled the situation. Some sporadic incidents are there, but that will be tackled. After election it happens in every state. I don't want any violence or anything. BJP is trying to create communal clash, because of their shameful defeat," the TMC supremo said, insisting that she had been telling her supporters to stay indoors and not celebrate at all during an interview with NDTV.
She further said, "They have lost their credibility. Till now even law and order was being handled by the Central forces, not by me. So, this is their doing, they are to blame for spoiling the situation if this is true."
On Monday, BJP has reported at least 6 deaths, TMC has reported 4 deaths whereas the Indian Secular Front (ISF) which partnered with Congress & the Left said it lost one of its party worker in North 24 Parganas, these figures aren't the official numbers. BJP also alleged that "TMC goons" their offices in the state including the one that was set on fire in Nandigram on Sunday. TMC rubbished the claim The TMC rejected the allegation and said that one of its workers was killed in Burdwan.
After which, the BJP has announced to hold a nationwide dharna on May 5 against the widespread violence unleashed allegedly by the TMC workers post the results of the assembly elections.
Meanwhile, Assam Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Tuesday said around 300 to 400 Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) BJP workers entered Assam fleeing their homes in West Bengal amid the violence post the declaration of assembly elections’ results.
