It has been suggested that Mamata Banerjee has sustained a bone injury. In the evening the remaining assessment will take place because notably, post-traumatic symptoms have been detected.

More updates will be given after the evening review.

Previously sources revealed that Mamata Banerjee has suffered "grave" injury and a "major crack" and will remain under hospital observation for the next 48 hrs. The West Bengal CM has also complained of chest pain just as she reported last evening.

After the incident took place, her nephew and TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee took to Twitter and shared a picture of the injured Chief Minister at the hospital and said, "BJP, brace yourselves to see the power of people of Bengal on Sunday, May 2nd".

Meanwhile, opposition leaders continue to raise doubts against the injury claims. Talking to ABP News soon after the incident, Bharatiya Janata Party's national general secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya termed it as a dramatic stunt for seeking sympathy. He questioned how could this happen amid the convoy she was surrounded by. He added that the BJP wants a CBI probe into the matter so that the truth is unveiled.

West Bengal Congress chief Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury also spoke to ABP News on Thursday and accused her of ‘siyasi pakhand’ (gimmick) and ‘nautanki’ (theatrics) to gain sympathy from the masses ahead of upcoming assembly polls.

Senior officials of West Bengal have sought a report from SP and DIG on the incident. Action to be initiated based on these reports.
