New Delhi: Political strategist Prashant Kishore slammed Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on Saturday and suggested that he should give the top post to Tejashwi Yadav now and not wait till 2025 for him to fight the state Assembly elections under his leadership.

Addressing a gathering, Kishore noted that giving the chief ministerial post to Tejashwi Yadav now would make sense as his Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) is the largest party in the Bihar Assembly. He further argued that this would give the opportunity to the people of Bihar to vote for him on the basis of his performance.

“No need to wait till 2025 to elect Tejashwi Yadav as CM. In their alliance RJD has biggest share, Nitish Kumar should make him CM. This will give Tejashwi a chance to work for three years and public will have the opportunity to vote on the basis of his performance,” news agency ANI quoted Prashant Kishore as saying.

It is to be noted that Prashant Kishore's remarks come days after Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that the Mahagathbandhan will contest the next Bihar Assembly election in 2025 under the leadership of his deputy Tejashwi Yadav, of the RJD.

"I have no ambition to become Prime Minister of the country. I have only one ambition: to defeat the BJP and remove it from the Centre. We all are working on it and we will contest the 2025 Assembly election of Bihar under the leadership of Tejashwi Yadav," Nitish Kumar had said.

He further asserted that he has been working for the development of Bihar and its people and now it is the turn of his deputy, Tejashwi Yadav, to continue the good works in future.

Notably, on several occasions earlier, CM Nitish Kumar had publicly said that he wants to promote young generation leader Tejashwi Yadav in future. Now, he has also announced it in the Assembly.
