Actor Ritesh Deshmukh became emotional while reminiscing about his father and former Maharashtra chief minister, Vilasrao Deshmukh, during an event honoring the veteran Congress leader. According to news agency PTI, Riteish Deshmukh expressed the high expectations that the people of Maharashtra hold for his brother, MLA Amit Deshmukh. Speaking emotionally, Riteish choked up as he remembered his father, stating, "It has been 12 years since my father passed away."

His elder brother and Congress MLA from Latur City, Amit Deshmukh, immediately offered comfort as Riteish spoke. Grateful for his uncle Dilip Deshmukh's unwavering support, Riteish publicly expressed his deep affection, saying, "I have never told this to my uncle, but today I want to tell him in front of all that I love him very much", as quoted by PTI.

A video of the actor's speech where he is seen tearing up is being widely shared on social media.

He also highlighted the exemplary relationship between an uncle and his nephew. Addressing Amit, Riteish acknowledged the weight of expectations from the people of Latur and Maharashtra upon him.

Reflecting on his father's influence, Ritesh Deshmukh expressed, "Currently, politics is very different. During the time of my father, there was politics, but I took a personal vaccine. In my father's memories, I always feel his presence. However, his presence doesn't always manifest in real, and my uncle, Diliprao, always stood by us", as per ABP Majha

During the unveiling of Vilasrao Deshmukh's statue, he also remarked, "This statue in this vicinity needs to be seen for inspiration. It should serve as inspiration from one person to another. We play various roles since birth. People who speak for humans are truly admirable."
