A major accident occurred on Sunday near the Navale bridge on the Pune-Bengaluru highway in Pune, causing damage to around 48 vehicles. Rescue teams from the Pune Fire Brigade and the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) have arrived at the scene, news agency ANI reported citing official sources. 


A rescue operation is currently underway. 






The accident took place at the Navale Bridge on the Bangalore-Mumbai Highway. The location is prone to accidents due to the steep slope of the road and the fast speed of vehicles, India Today reported. 


According to official sources cited by the news agency PTI, some people have reportedly been injured.


The truck's brakes may have failed during the accident on the Navale Bridge, or the driver may have lost control, according to the official source. 


Six people were injured in the accident, according to the information we have so far, and they are being treated at two hospitals, the official said.


According to eyewitnesses, there are multiple damaged automobiles at the scene, where rescue operations are being carried out by members of the fire department, police officers, and bystanders, news agency PTI reported.
