UP Perfume: The Consulate General of India in New York, Randhir Jaiswal launched a "Made in India" perfume at the "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav" event on the occasion of Valentine's Day in New York. The perfume is originally made in India in Uttar Pradesh's Kannauj district. The product line has been named 'Vikas Khanna by Zighrana'. 


"It is a fusion of spices & flowers dedicated to Indian culinary. We'll also launch a perfume dedicated to our hometown, perfume capital of India, Kannuaj. We've named it 'Kannuaj'," said Zighrana CEO Swapnil Pathak Sharma, reports news agency ANI. 


Indian Embassy’s Randhir Jaiswal said, "This is possibly the first time that you have an Indian perfume from Kannauj (UP), that too, at a time when we are celebrating India’s 75 years of Independence,” reports ANI.






 


The Company Expressed Happiness


Swapnil Pathak Sharma, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the perfume maker company Zigharana, says Indian perfume being launched in New York is a thing of pride. “It is an honour to launch the product here in New York. Coming from a small town, it is a dream come true. Presenting my city on such a global platform is a pleasure,” he said.





According to a press release issued by the company, this new perfume of Zigharana named "Vikas Khanna" is a blend of cloves, nutmeg, cardamom, jasmine, sandalwood including rose that defines the unique fragrance of India for many centuries. The perfume maker says that they have used precious materials like rose oil to make this perfume. He said that about 100 kg of flowers is used to make 20 grams of rose oil.


According to ANI, the press release said that “the company has planned to come out with more distinct fragrances representing India’s history and culture. Moreover, the brand wants to bring their traditional attars to the US market and explore opportunities in the scented candles market.”
