Two individuals died when a fire broke out at a hotel in the city's Hazratganj neighbourhood on Monday, even as rescue crews continued to search the premises to see whether anybody was trapped inside, news agency PTI reported.


The event occurred at the Levana Suites on Madan Mohan Malviya Marg in Hazratganj.





According to early reports, a large number of guests and employees were trapped inside Lucknow's Hotel Levana, where the fire started.


Rajnath Singh, the defence minister and BJP MP from Lucknow, tweets that he has assessed the situation in consultation with the regional leadership. A relief and rescue effort is under progress. His office maintains constant communication with the local administration.






Attempts are being made to evacuate occupants from the hotel room. Until now, the police have rescued at least 13 people who were trapped inside.






To free those who are stuck inside, emergency response workers are using iron rods to shatter hotel windows.


Speaking about the evacuation process, DG Fire said, "Rooms are filled with smoke making it difficult to go in. Work is underway to break window panes and grills, 2 people have been rescued," ANI reported.

Five Killed As Fire Breaks Out At Building In UP's Moradabad 


Earlier in August, a fire broke out at a multi-story structure in the Moradabad region of Uttar Pradesh, leaving at least five people dead and seven wounded, news agency ANI reported.


On the night of August 24, about 10 PM, a fire started in the four-story building.


Five people are apparently killed and seven people are reportedly saved in a fire that broke out in the building, according to the district magistrate of Moradabad. The seven individuals were then taken directly to the hospital due to their injuries.


"Five people lost their lives while seven were injured after a fire broke out in a three-storey building in Moradabad. People of the same family were residing in the building. The fire department is conducting a further probe to ascertain the reason," Shailendra Kumar Singh, DM, Moradabad informed ANI.

According to the report, the building was home to members of the same family.


At least two kids were among the deceased, according to the district hospital's emergency medical officer. Fire-related injuries are the main cause of the deaths.
