The political hustle has once again begun in Arunachal, which is otherwise a peaceful state; as Election Commission announced the dates of upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
The state will vote on April 11.
2014 Lok Sabha Elections:
The battle was fought mainly between 4 major political parties namely Indian National Congress (INC), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), All India Trinamool Congress (AITC) and Nationalist Congress Party(NCP). Of the two Lok Sabha seats both Congress and BJP bagged one seat each and BJP.
2009 Lok Sabha election in Arunachal Pradesh:
Congress won both the Lok Sabha seats in this year. Congress leaders Takam Sanjoy won the election from Arunachal West, whereas Ninong Ering won the polls from Arunachal East.
2004 Lok Sabha election:
Congress candidate and former Arunachal Congress leader Wangcha Rajkumar contested Arunachal East and AC candidate Kamen Ringu contested Arunachal West. Nationalist Trinamool Congress had a candidate in Arunachal West, competing against BJP. BJP won both seats with good margins.
