New Delhi: Union Home Minister Amit Shah, speaking at an election rally on Friday, criticised Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi for referring to Rae Bareli as a "family seat." He said that Rae Bareli is not the seat of any particular family, but rather belongs to the people of the constituency. Union Home Minister rallied in support of BJP candidates Smriti Irani from Amethi and Dinesh Pratap Singh from Rae Bareli Lok Sabha constituencies.

Shah praised both candidates for their hard work and dedication, expressing confidence that the BJP would secure victories in both constituencies, as per ANI.

He criticised the dynastic politics of various leaders, stating, "They play dynastic politics. Lalu ji wants his son to become CM, Mamata wants the same for her nephew, and Sonia Gandhi wants her son Rahul Gandhi to become Prime Minister. They claim that Raebareli and Amethi's seats belong to them. But I feel it is the people who should decide. There is no seat reserved for Parivaar."

Shah alluded to Amethi and Raebareli, two constituencies traditionally associated with the Gandhi family. These areas have gained renewed attention as Congress leader Rahul Gandhi campaigns in Raebareli, while the family's close aide, Kishori Lal Sharma, contests against BJP's Smriti Irani in Amethi.

Rebel Samajwadi Party MLA Manoj Pande joined the BJP and sat beside Shah on the stage. Shah said Pande rightly said the Gandhi family never visited Rae Bareli during natural calamities or accidents, reported PTI.
