The Uddhav Thackery-led state government is going to reopen economical activities and movement in a phased manner while providing certain relaxations in Unlock 5.0, which has been announced on September 30.

Here's What Will Be Operational In Maharashtra

  • Hotels, food courts, restaurants, and bars will be allowed to operate from 5th October with 50% capacity.

  • Dabbawallas will be able to travel in Mumbai Local Trains.

  • Local train services will be resumed in Pune.

  • Intra-state trains in the state will be allowed to resume as per the Covid-19 protocol.

  • Railway authorities have been directed to increase the frequency of trains in MMR1.

Here's What Will Remain Closed In Maharashtra

  • Large gatherings remain prohibited.

  • Cinema halls will remain closed even though reopening has been allowed by the Ministry of Home Affairs under Unlock 5 guidelines.

  • Schools will remain closed.

  • Metro operations continue to be suspended.


Meanwhile, the Ministry of Home Affairs has also released fresh guidelines for the Unlock 5 phase beginning October 1. It has introduced some more relaxations in the new SOPs as the process of resumption of economic activities has been extended further.
