LoC Flare-Up In J&K: 3 Jawans Killed, 5 Injured In Pakistani Shelling
While one Jawan died in Pakistani shelling in Rajouri, two Jawans were killed in shelling in Naugam Sector of Kupwara.
Jammu & Kashmir: In a fresh flare up on line of control (LOC) three Jawans of Indian army were killed and 5 others injured in Naugam and Poonch sectors of Jammu and Kashmir. While one Jawan died in Pakistani shelling in Rajouri, two Jawans were killed in shelling in Naugam Sector of Kupwara.
According to PRO Defence, two Jawans died and 4 others suffered serious injuries when “Pakistan initiated an unprovoked ceasefire violation along LoC in Naugam Sector, Kupwara today morning by firing mortars and other weapons.
The injured soldiers are being evacuated,” Col Rajesh Kalia, Defence Ministry spokesman based in Srinagar said.
The dead Jawans have been identified as Havaldar Kuldeep Singh of 15 SIKH Light Infantry and Rifleman Shubham of 8 JAK RIFLES. “Befitting response is being given,” the spokesman added with intermittent artillery shelling is going on in the area
Last night the army said that a soldier, Lance Naik Karnail Singh, was killed and another, Virender Singh, injured in Pakistan firing along LoC in Poonch's Krishana Ghati sector.
