In an act of peace, in Bihar’s Nalanda, leaders of all the parties of the district, stalwarts of all religions, and the district administration jointly took out the Sadbhavna March in Biharsharif after the situation improved in violence-affected areas. 


In a video shared by the news agency ANI, the leaders, supporters and officials can be seen slowly marching down a street in the district along with security personnel. 






Participants in the peace march held banners and placards, conveying messages of communal harmony and brotherhood.


Nalanda District Magistrate, Shashank Shubhankar had said earlier that a peace committee has been formed in every ward and a meeting of the peace committee will be held following which they will take out a march.


"The situation is normal in the city. Shops are also being opened. A peace committee was formed in every ward. Today also there will be a meeting of the peace committee and a march will be held... Over 130 people have been arrested so far," said the district magistrate. Earlier on Sunday, the State government extended the suspension of internet services till April 4 in the Nalanda district.


Communal disturbances were reported in Bihar, around the Ram Navami festivities, from a few other places besides Sasaram and Bihar Sharif towns. 


At least 130 people were arrested in Nalanda and 43 people were held in Sasaram. Section 144 was imposed in Sasaram due to clashes between two groups after the Ram Navami celebrations on March 31.


Earlier, on Monday, BJP leaders staged a protest outside the Bihar assembly against the State government over the violence that took place in various districts during Ram Navami celebrations. They raised anti-government slogans and demanded Chief Minister Nitish Kumar to step down.


Meanwhile, a total of 10 companies of the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) have been sent to Bihar. Of these 10 companies (carrying approximately 1,000 personnel) includes four from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) one from Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and the rest from Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB), ANI reported citing sources.
