There will likely be no significant change in minimum temperatures over parts of Northwest India during the next three days, followed by gradual rise in the temperature by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius.

New Delhi: There will likely be no significant change in minimum temperatures over parts of Northwest India during the next three days. A gradual rise in the temperature by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius will happen thereafter, the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) said in a press release dated January 27.

 

A fall in minimum temperatures by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius is very likely over East India during the next two days, according to the release. There will be no significant change thereafter.

 

Also, there will be a gradual rise in minimum temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius over Gujarat during the next three days, the IMD said in the release.

 

During the next two to three days, cold wave conditions in isolated pockets over Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh, Rajasthan, West Uttar Pradesh, Vidarbha, Bihar, and Chattisgarh are very likely. Such conditions will prevail over Odisha from January 28 to 30.

 

During the next 24 hours, cold to severe cold wave conditions are very likely in isolated pockets over Madhya Pradesh. 

Cold day to severe cold day conditions are likely to prevail in isolated pockets over Madhya Pradesh during the next 24 hours.

 

Dense fog conditions are very likely to continue prevailing in isolated pockets in the Western Himalayan Region, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and West Uttar Pradesh, during the next 24 hours, and over East Uttar Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura during the next 48 hours, the IMD said in its release.

Rainfall Forecast And Warnings

On January 27 and 28, isolated light rainfall is very likely over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, followed by dry weather. 

During the next four days, isolated light rainfall may occur over the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

 

Scattered to fairly widespread light or moderate rainfall is very likely over Arunachal Pradesh, and isolated to scattered rainfall may occur over Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, and Tripura on January 27 and 28.

 

In these regions, isolated thunderstorms and lightning are very likely during the next 24 hours.

 

Isolated light rainfall is very likely over South Interior Karnataka and Rayalaseema during the next two days. Such conditions are likely over coastal Andhra Pradesh during the next three days.

 

From February 2 to 4, scattered to fairly widespread rainfall or snowfall is likely over the Western Himalayan Region, and light, isolated rainfall over the adjoining planes.
