New Delhi: As the time frame to get old demonetised currency exchanged ends on Friday, heavy crowd can be seen flocked outside the Reserve Bank of India; waiting for their turn. Though currency exchange for general citizens had ended long back, this is only valid for the ones who are NRIs, or were outside India during demonetisation phase.

Massive crowd could be seen waiting outside RBI in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata on Thursday, waiting for their turn to get the new currency in lieu of the old one after PM Narendra Modi imposed a note ban on November 8 last year.

Though many were successful in getting their currency exchanged, others didn’t have complete information about the required documents and hence had to return home disappointed.

Among these were helpless people; who had waited for the last days to get their old currency exchanged. On having to return back with their old currency, because of dearth of information, they were seen tearing off their old notes, which isn’t worth anything anymore.
