Kinnaur: In a highly tragic incident, seven people have reportedly died while four are injured after landslide took place in the Sangla valley area of Kinnaur district of Himachal Pradesh on Sunday afternoon.

Several terrifying videos of the incident have surfaced showing large chunks of rocks breaking off a mountain top and rolling down into the valley.

As per the early inputs, the victims are suspected to be tourists from Delhi-NCR who were on their way to Chitkul-- a popular tourists spot in Kinnaur -- when a rockslide from the high mountains of Sangla hit their vehicle, killing seven people.

Senior officials have rushed to the spot to trace the bodies and provide relief to the injured ones under emergency operation.

According to reports, the incident has caused massive damage to the houses and nearby buildings. A bridge on the Baspa river was also smashed by the high-speed boulders and rocks. The incident has created a panic all over the place.

It is to be noted that the incident has occurred days after flash floods and landslides caused by heavy rainfall left several people dead. Officials monitoring the situation on Saturday even issued a stern warning for the tourists to avoid travels to risk-prone mountain valleys and also destinations close to the rivers.
