New Delhi: In the wake of upcoming Lok Sabha elections in the country, the meetings between leaders from various parties have also begun. RJD Chief Lalu Yadav’s son Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday night met Bahujan Samaj Party supremo Mayawati in Lucknow and congratulated her for the alliance with SP. Yadav is set to meet Samajwadi Party Chief Akhilesh Yadav on Monday.

This meeting came soon after Samajwadi Party and Bahujan Samaj Party declared an alliance and their seat sharing formula in the state for the Lok Sabha polls, in order to defeat Bharatiya Janta Party. Congress has been kept away from the alliance. On the other hand, RJD and Congress are set to contest the upcoming polls together.

After meeting BSP Chief, Tejashwi Yadav said that we are youngest of all and have to come to take everyone’s blessings. He added saying “Lalu Yadav had hoped that there should be an alliance in Uttar Pradesh as well and Mayawati and Akhilesh should contest polls together”.

Lalu had urged Mayawati and Akhilesh to contest the elections together in UP ahead of 2017 Assembly election, and both leaders had declined the same. Mayawtai had then spoken “When Mulayam Singh was Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister and he got a life threatening attack on me, I believe he would have suggested otherwise if it was Lalu’s daughter or sister; instead of me”.

‘Not even one seat for BJP’

Tejashwi said “An unannounced emergency has been implemented in the country, the constitution is being changed and attempts to end reservation are being made”. He said “PM Modi is working on Mohan Bhagwat’s orders”.

He said “I have no fight between me and PM Modi, there’s only a fight of ideologies and principles.”
