New Delhi: Father of the young boy who sang a patriotic song in front of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Berlin, during his recently concluded trip to Europe, has lashed out at standup comedian Kunal Kamra for sharing an morphed video of the entire episode. Kamra, who is known for his grudges with PM Modi and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government, has recently shared an edited video of Prime Minister's interaction with the child.
However, the comedian replaced the song the boy sang - "Hey Janmabhoomi Bharat" with another song from a 2010 movie Peepli Live - "Mehengayi daayan khaaye jaat hai".
Calling Kamra 'trash' and asking him to keep his son out of his "filthy politics", Ganesh Pol, the father of the child, tweeted: "He is my 7 year old son, who wanted to sing this song for his beloved Motherland . Though he is still very young but certainly he loves his country more than you Mr. Kamra or Kachra watever u are. Keep the poor boy out of your filthy politics & try to work on your poor jokes".
However, reposnding to Pol's sharp criticism, Kamra said that it was the Prime Minister who got the kid in public domain and not him.
"The father is guiding the child towards demo singing to PM while everyone has cameras rolling & footage shared on social media, PM got the kid in public domain not me. I just made the child sing a song the PM much rather hear," the comedian tweeted.
The 7-year-old boy sang a patriotic song for Prime Minister Modi in Berlin, who enjoyed listening to him. Modi praised the boy’s talent and said "Shaabash (well done)".
PM Modi was one a three-day trip to three European nations, including Germany, Denmark and France. He returned home on Thursday after concluding his three-nation European tour during which he held a series of bilateral meetings to boost ties in a range of areas including trade, energy and green technology.
