Kolkata: In a shocking case of brutality, two nursing students of Nil Ratan Sarkar Medical College were arrested on Tuesday in connection to brutally thrashing 16 puppies to death. A video of the incident where the dog were being beaten up by two girls of the nursing hostel went viral on social media sites. Though ABP News cannot examine the authenticity of the viral video.


It is reported that that accused have admitted their crime while they were being interrogated by officials. In the case, the two will be produced before the court on Wednesday .

Controversy was raised following the mysterious deaths of 18 puppy inside the premises of State Run NRS hospital. As per the reports puppy were found tied up in three disposable bags. Two of the puppies, who were still breathing then, were rushed to a veterinary clinic, but one of them died soon after.

An investigating committee was immediately formed headed by the Deputy super of NRS hospital and a case was registered at the Entally Police station. The post-mortem report indicated that all the puppies were beaten to death and had multiple fractures.
