RG Kar Doctor Death: Civic volunteer and key accused Sanjay Roy, who confessed to committing the horrifying crime that led to the death of a 31-year-old trainee doctor at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital last week, is now in the custody of the Central Bureau of Investigation. As fresh revelations in the matter continue to fuel nation's outrage with each passing day with hundreds of medical professionals steadfast in demanding justice for the victim, Roy's mother also said that his son is being punished for what he did.

The key accused's mother told ABP News that his son should have looked at her face and thought about her before commiting such a dastardly act.

She also said that the death of one daughter has led to the destruction of two families.

However, a few days ago she was in denial that her son could commit such a crime and claimed he was innocent.

Ever since his arrest, questions have been raised on Sanjay Roy's character with several media reports claiming that he was addicted to pornography, was a womaniser, and even abused his ex-wives. He is said to have been allegedly involved in a racket of extorting money from the relatives of the patients at the hospital.

He was married thrice in the past but all of them left him because of his misconduct. One of his mother-in-law even alleged that he was violent against women for a long time and had married her daughter despite being married already to someone else. She stated that they had filed a complaint against him for "beating and torturing" her daughter, media reports say.

A 25-member special team of CBI led by an additional director has now began an investigation into the alleged rape and murder of the Kolkata doctor on August 9. CBI has swung into action after taking over the probe from Kolkata Police and has taken all the documents related to the case in its possession.

Earlier today, Roy was taken by the CBI team for his medical examination.
