New Delhi: Tributes are pouring in from across the spectrum as famous singer Krishnakumar Kunnath, popularly known as KK breathed his last on Tuesday in Kolkata. The singer had performed at Gurudas college in Ultadanga district earlier the same day.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi offered condolences on the sudden death of the singer. Taking to Twitter, PM Modi wrote, “Saddened by the untimely demise of noted singer Krishnakumar Kunnath popularly known as KK. His songs reflected a wide range of emotions and struck a chord with people of all age groups. We will always remember him through his songs. Condolences to his family and fans. Om Shanti.
Actor Akshay Kumar too joined the fans in paying tribute to the 53-year old singer. "Extremely sad and shocked to know of the sad demise of KK. What a loss! Om Shanti," the actor tweeted.
Tributes to the singer came from cricket fraternity too as Virendra Sehwag wrote"Tragic to hear about the passing away of KK after falling ill while performing in Kolkata. Another reminder of how fragile life is. Condolences to his family and friends. Om Shanti."
The official handle of Kolkata Knight Riders remembered the singer with one of his mot famous songs of all times.
According to initial reports, Kunnath was taken to a private hospital on Diamond Harbor Road after falling ill during an event at Diamond Harbor Road. As per sources, the famous Bollywood singer was brought dead at the Calcutta Medical Research Institute Hospital.
