A stray dog killed a one year old kid belonging to a labourer on Monday night in a high-rise community in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, news agency ANI reported.

The ICU received the toddler's admission. During the attack, the child's intestines were torn out. The infant had to undergo failed surgery at Noida's Yatharth Hospital.

Tuesday morning, the toddler passed away in a hospital after spending the whole night in a severe condition. After the incident, the residents of the Noida housing society staged protest, and blocked roads, ANI reported.

Residents of the society gathered in protest and urged the Noida Authority to intervene in the situation.

One of the society's inhabitants claims that the basement is home to a large number of stray dogs. Additionally, they receive food from society, India Today reported.

“Notably, this is not the first incident of a stray dog attacking someone in society as it happens every 3-4 months. We have complained about this to the Noida authority and to the AOA too, but they did not take any action,” the resident was quoted by India Today in its report.

The victim's parents have received the deceased's corpse.

The toddler's parents have taken the remains to Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh, where last rituals will be conducted.

Police in Noida Sector 39 are looking into the situation.
