New Delhi: The Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal addressed a press conference on Monday and revealed the next vaccination plan for the national capital. The Delhi CM said that the city will be using polling booths as a vaccination centre and 70 wards will be covered in a week.
The polling booth agents will visit these wards door to door and enquire about people aged 45+ if they are vaccinated or not using the voter id list and will provide a slot to those who have not taken the jab. The agents are being trained today and the drive will commence on Tuesday.
The Delhi Chief Minister said, "We are starting a 'Jahan Vote, Wahan Vaccination' campaign from today. Under this campaign, we will tell people to visit their designated polling stations to get vaccinated. Door-to-door vaccination to be done soon. In 4 weeks, all above 45 years of age to be vaccinated."
Earlier in the day, the Kejriwal government instructed the government and private hospitals to provide only 2nd dose Covaxin to 18+ after experiencing a shortage of Bharat Biotech's vaccine.
Delhi has been continuously witnessing a downward trend in Coronavirus cases and news infections have dipped below 500. The unlock process has commenced today in the national capital and markets and shops have been allowed to reopen on an odd-even basis. However, restaurants have only been allowed to provide home delivery services and cinema halls, parks, and gyms will remain shut till the next order.
