Significantly south Kashmir is considered to be a very sensitive area. Very often cases of clashes between security forces and terrorists are reported here.  Let us tell you that in the first week of February, security forces killed two Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists in an encounter in Srinagar.

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Vijay Kumar said the militants were from The Resistance Front (TRF) affiliated to Lashkar-e-Taiba. One of the terrorists was involved in the murder of a head constable Ali Mohammad Ghani in Anantnag on January 29.
