Karnataka: Ten people were injured in an acid attack on the victory procession of winning Congress on Monday in Barline Road in Tumkur’s 16th ward in Karnataka.

The incident happened during a small procession being taken out by Congress candidate Inayathullah to celebrate his win in a ward.

The 10 people injured in the chemical attack were later admitted to Kothi Toppu Hospital. Doctors said the liquid might be some low-intensity acid like bathroom cleaner.

The police also registered a case at Tumkur city Police Station. Nobody has been arrested so far and no complaint has been lodged, the officer added.

The urban local body election results were announced on Monday, where the Congress was locked in a close fight with the BJP, but set to gain control of the majority of the local bodies with a post-poll tie-up with ruling coalition partner JDS.
