New Delhi: A court in Jaipur sent all the four arrested accused, in the murder case of Udaipur tailor Kanhaiya Lal, to 10-day NIA (National Investigation Agency) remand on Saturday, news agency ANI reported. A joint team of the NIA and Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) presented the four accused – Riaz Akhtari, Ghouse Mohammad, and their accomplices Asif and Mohsin – before a special NIA court in Jaipur.

Notably, the two main accused, Akhtari and Mohammad, were brought to Jaipur from the Ajmer high security jail amid tight security. Mohsin and Asif, arrested on Thursday night, were already kept in the ATS headquarters.

Earlier on Friday, the Rajasthan government suspended Udaipur ASP Ashok Kumar Meena. Before that, the SHO and SI were also suspended.

The victim, identified as Kanhaiya Lal Teli, was a tailor in Udaipur. As per reports, the incident took place earlier this week when two men entered his shop posing as customers. As the tailor was taking the measurements of one of them, he attacked him with a cleaver. The other man shot the murder with his mobile phone. Multiple stab wounds were also found on Kanhaiya Lal's body, IANS reported.

As per reports, Kanhaiya Lal had earlier told the local police that he received threats over a social media post shared from his account, apparently “supporting” BJP leader Nupur Sharma’s remarks on Prophet Mohammad.

Meanwhile, the four accused were reportedly attacked by an angry crowd of people while being escorted by the police outside the premises of NIA court in Jaipur on Saturday.
