New Delhi: Senior Congress leader and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Kamal Nath has refused to leave Madhya Pradesh and has decided to serve a central role.


According to sources, Kamal Nath was proposed to serve a bigger role at the centre by Congress leadership while there were speculations that he is likely to be made the working President of the party.


But party sources told ABP News that Kamal Nath has refused to leave Madhya Pradesh.

According to sources, Kamal Nath has told the central leadership that he does not want to leave Madhya Pradesh and will continue to serve his role for Delhi.


He said that he will be available for leadership, whenever the Gandhi family needs him in any state. So, in the coming days, Kamal Nath will most likely not be seen playing the role of the working President but can serve as a political advisor to the Gandhi family.  


According to the sources, Kamal Nath has been entrusted with the task of reducing the tension in the Maha Aghadi government in Maharashtra and will stand in the Uttar Pradesh elections as well.


It is worth noting that recently Sonia Gandhi's talks with the rebel Congress group, G23 were also taken up on the suggestion of Kamal Nath.
