Lucknow: Former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Kalyan Singh's health has deteriorated again. His health was improving gradually till Saturday, but then he was suddenly found to be having trouble breathing.


According to the official health bulletin, Kalyan Singh's condition deteriorated on Saturday when he complained of respiratory discomfort along with abdominal distension.

He has now undergoing Oxygen therapy. It is being suspected that he could have contracted a new infection.


Amid this development, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Kalyan Singh once again to enquire about his health.


Kalyan Singh was admitted to Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS) on the evening of July 4 after he slipped into unconsciousness following a minor heart attack a night before while undergoing treatment at Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences.



Earlier, Kalyan Singh's condition was informed to be getting better as his health was improving gradually.


The bulletin informs, "Oxygen therapy was started. All appropriate blood tests were done. USG imaging, ECHO and consultations from Neurology, Cardiology, gastro-medicine, gastro-surgery, Nephrology and Pulmonary Medicine was done on urgent basis and therapy optimised. Escalation of antibiotics and antifungals have been done considering the possibility of new-onset infection/sepsis".


The team of senior doctors treating the former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister is monitoring the vital parameters and his daily health updates. 


Besides CM Adityanath, Union Minister Smriti Irani and BJP president JP Nadda have met the ailing veteran leader.


Prime Minister Narendra Modi also enquired about the health of Kalyan Singh and said people across India are praying for his speedy recovery.
