Kalyan Singh Funeral HIGHLIGHTS: Last Rites Of Former UP CM Conducted, Top Leaders Pay Tribute
Home Minister Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, Smriti Irani, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Yogi Adityanath, Keshav Prasad Maurya, and other leaders will pay their last respects to the departed leader at Atrauli.
The last rites of Kalyan Singh will be performed at Rajghat in Narora of Bulandshahr district with full state honours. Earlier, the mortal remains of the BJP leader, which were kept at Ahilya Bai Holkar stadium in Aligarh, were brought to Atrauli, where his native village Madholi is situated. From here former UP CM's body will be taken to Rajghat.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya announced that demised leader Kalyan Singh, former UP Chief Minister, will have important roads named after him.
"To honour him one important road each in Ayodhya, Lucknow, Aligarh, Etah, Bulandhshahr and Prayagraj will be named after him. His contribution to Ram Temple construction can never be forgotten. Officers have been directed to draft documents with immediate effect," Dy CM told news agency ANI.
Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister and senior BJP leader Shivraj Singh paid his last respect to the departed leader Kalyan Singh at Atrauli. He said: " Since his early days in politics he just thought about the welfare of the poor farmers and other backward classes who did not have basic amenities. He wanted that to see the magnificent Ram Temple being built in Ayodhya and he was elated during the foundation laying ceremony."
Union Home Minister and senior BJP leader Amit Shah at Atrauli said that Kalyan Singh's loss is "irreplaceable". He said, "Babuji (Kalyan Singh) is an inspiration to many as he came from a humble background and rose to a level that no one can imagine. Babuji dedicated his entire life to uplift the underprivileged and now he is gone. We thank him for giving us a direction and we will fulfill his goal. It is a huge loss and this void will not be filled for a long time."

The last rites of the former UP Chief Minister Kalyan Singh were held on Monday at the banks of river Ganga in Narora. He passed away on Saturday due to a prolonged illness.
BJP leaders were at his residence in Lucknow on Sunday to pay their respects.

Kalyan Singh breathed his last aged 89 at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow on Saturday night. He was admitted to the hospital’s Intensive Care Unit (ICU) earlier on July 4 due to an infection and reduced consciousness level.
It was reported that the former UP Chief Minister died due to sepsis and multi-organ failure.
Uttar Pradesh announced three-day mourning and a holiday on Monday when his last rites are to be performed.
