Jammu and Kashmir: Former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Wednesday sought that state assembly should dissolve immediately and that fresh elections should be conducted as soon as possible.


Omar further took on Bharatiya Janta Party and said that former Deputy Chief Minister from BJP Kavinder Gupta has admitted that BJP can’t be trusted not to horsetrade for government formation.

Omar’s statement came after, former Deputy CM Gupta, while speaking to media on Wednesday said, “I don't think a new government will be formed anytime soon. Uncertainties are there, but we are working on something and people will get to know about it”.



Taking on Gupta Omar further said that “What do you mean “we are working on something”? The only “something” would be to break other parties & make up the numbers to form a BJP Govt. Has the former DCM inadvertently spilled the beans?”

President Ram Nath Kovind on approved implementation of Governor rule in the state on Wednesday  after Governor, N.N. Vohra sought Kovind's approval on Tuesday after the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) decision to pull out of the Peoples Democratic Party (pdp)-led state government which was immediately followed by the resignation of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.
