New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Jharkhand’s Deoghar district on Tuesday where he will be inaugurating projects worth Rs 16,800 which will include the Deoghar Airport. He will also lay foundation stones for various development projects and will participate in an 11.5 kilometre long road show, a senior police officer said, reported by news agency PTI. In view of the visit by PM Modi, security has been beefed up in the district, the report stated. 


Later in the day, PM Modi will visit Patna where he will address the closing ceremony of centenary celebrations of Bihar Legislative Assembly. 


PM Modi’s Visit To Deoghar


During his visit to Deoghar, the Prime Minister will pay his obeisance at Baba Baidyanath Temple, one of the 12 Jyotirlingas, the report quoted the official as saying. 


Taking to Twitter, Prime Minister Modi shared the itinerary of his visit in a series of tweets. “I look forward to being in Jharkhand and Bihar tomorrow to attend various programmes. In the afternoon, I will reach Deoghar where I will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development works worth Rs. 16,800 crore,” he tweeted. 




PM Modi will dedicate the Deoghar Airport — for which he laid the foundation stone on May 25, 2018 — to the people of the region which has been built at a cost of Rs 401 crores and expands on an area of 657 acres. Low-cost air carrier IndiGo announced last week a Kolkata-Deoghar flight service on July 12. 


He will also inaugurate the In-Patient Department and operation theatre service at AIIMS Deoghar. “In line with our commitment to providing top quality healthcare services, In-Patient Department and operation theatre services at AIIMS, Deoghar will be inaugurated,” he tweeted. 


Another tweet by the PM read, "At the programme in Deoghar tomorrow, many road, rail and infra works will also be launched or their foundation stones would be laid. These works will enhance commerce and connectivity. The local economy will also get a boost due to these works." 




Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren had on Sunday held a high-level meeting with senior officials and police officers to take stock of the preparations and security arrangements ahead of the PM’s visit.


PM Modi’s Visit To Patna 


Later in the day, PM Modi will head towards Patna where he will address the closing ceremony of centenary celebrations of Bihar Legislative Assembly. He will inaugurate the Shatabdi Smriti Stambh which has been built to commemorate 100 years of Bihar Vidhan Sabha.




“The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone of the Vidhan Sabha museum. Different galleries in the museum will demonstrate the history of democracy in Bihar and evolution of current civic structure. It will also have a Conference Hall with a capacity of more than 250 persons. Prime Minister will also lay the foundation stone of Vidhan Sabha guest house on the occasion,” the press release stated.
