New Delhi: In another horrific incident, a married man set a girl ablaze after she rejected his marriage proposal in Jharkhand’s Dumka, news agency ANI reported on Friday. The accused was already married. The probe in the case is underway.


“She has been referred to Ranchi. The boy was known to the girl. The accused is already married and wanted to marry the victim. The parents (of the girl) were not ready for the marriage. Probe on, Shivender”, ANI quoted DSP, Jarmundi as saying.






Earlier in August, a girl in was set ablaze in Jharkhand's Dumka, after which she was admitted to Ranchi's Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) where she succumbed to her burn injuries on August 28.

The incident was followed by severe protests by the locals, after which Section 144 was imposed. The accused, identified as Shahrukh has been arrested.
