New Delhi: After Jet Airways was granted the Air Operator Certificate (AOC) by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) allowing the airline to resume commercial flight operations, the airline asked its former crew and staff member to come back 'home'. In a tweet, the airline said that it was inviting back its former crew but it was only inviting its female staff, the male crew will be invited after they “scale up” their business further.
"There’s really nothing like home! Inviting former Jet Airways cabin crew to come back and join us in relaunching India's classiest airline," the airline tweeted.
After which, chief executive officer (CEO) Sanjiv Kapoor tweeted: "Our operational hiring has commenced, with a call out to former Jet crew." Kapoor also said the hiring of pilots and engineers would take place in the coming days - when the airline's aircraft choice is revealed.

Earlier this year, the airline appointed veteran aviation expert Sanjiv Kapoor as its chief executive officer (CEO). Kapoor during his stint with SpiceJet helped steer the company through a turbulent period.
The company has also appointed former Sri Lankan Airlines CEO Vipula Gunatilleka as the chief financial officer (CFO). Aside from this, the company has appointed 200 people across various departments.
Jet Airways, which was founded by Naresh Goyal, first operated its first commercial flight on May 5, 1993, while the last commercial flight was on April 18, 2019, as it collapsed under a pile of debt and the company became bankrupt.
