Backward Class Not Acceptable To Him? JDU On Amit Shah Skipping Talks With Bihar CM Nitish Kumar

JDU said Shah avoided the federal structure by speaking with the Governor instead of the CM. "Isn't a person from a backward section acceptable to him he didn't speak with CM?" the party questioned.

In response to union home minister Amit Shah's vehement message to Bihar's coalition government, the Janata Dal (United) said on Sunday that Shah's remarks have tarnished the state's image. The party claimed that Shah avoided the federal structure by speaking with the Governor rather than the elected chief minister (Nitish Kumar). "Isn't a person from a backward section acceptable to Amit Shah that he didn't speak with Bihar CM?" the party asked, ANI reported. 

Earlier in the day, the union home minister launched a stinging attack on the Mahagathbandhan government in Bihar in response to the communal violence in Sasaram and Bihar Sharif towns, saying Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's dream of becoming the next Prime Minister will never come true.

"The people of India have decided that Narendra Modi will be elected Prime Minister for the third time in a row." If that happens, Nitish Kumar will break his promise to hand over the mantle to his deputy Tejashwi Yadav, shattering his dreams of becoming Prime Minister, Shah said at a rally in Hisua, Nawada district.

He coined the term "B.A.D." for Bihar's ruling government, claiming that it was characterised by "bhrashtachar" (corruption), "arajakata" (anarchy), and "daman" (oppression).

Blaming the Nitish Kumar government for the communal tensions that forced him to cancel an earlier scheduled visit to Sasaram, one of the riot-hit towns, Shah promised that rioters would be hanged upside down if the BJP forms the state government in 2025.

Shah used phrases like "log maare jaa rahe hain" (people were being killed) and "goliyan chal rahi hain" (guns were blazing) to blame the Bihar alliance government, which included the Congress, RJD, and the Left, for engaging in "appeasement politics," which had allowed terrorism to thrive.

Shah stated that he spoke with the governor of Bihar earlier in the day to assess the situation. "Lalan Singh (JD(U) president) taking exception to that. He should remember that I am the country's Home Minister. If lawlessness reigns in Bihar, I cannot remain silent. The state is part of the country," he said.

Shah claimed that the people of Bihar have decided to ensure that party candidates win all 40 Lok Sabha seats in the general elections in 2024.
