When I was ruling in coalition with BJP, its leaders were saying many things which I did not like," IANS quoted Kumar as saying.

- LJP (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan slammed Nitish Kumar for "insulting" the people's mandate once again and demanded the imposition of President's Rule in the state followed by fresh elections.
- Nitish Kumar had deserted the NDA for the first time in 2013. In 2017, he ditched his coalition government with the RJD-Congress combine to walk back into the NDA camp.
- As the drama unfolded in Bihar, talks of Nitish Kumar being pitched as prime ministerial candidate for the 2024 elections started doing the rounds in political circles. While TMC refused to comment, NCP and RJD leader Sharad Yadav said Kumar can be seen as prime ministerial challenger to Narendra Modi in 2024.
